J. Ashley T. Booth, ASW

Panelist, ASW

Ashley has been a community leader and educator in Southern California around the therapeutic, spiritual, and shamanic uses of psychedelics since 2014. Her journey has taken her from a previous career in environmental science to a passion for the reintroduction of psychedelics and entheogens back into Western society. She founded the Southern California psychedelic society, the Aware Project, in addition to co-founding InnerSpace Integration, producing and hosting over 90 psychedelic educational events.

In 2015, Ashley transitioned professionally into the field of mental health. From 2015-2017, she worked as psycho-spiritual retreat facilitator at Crossroads Treatment Center in Mexico supporting attendees through ibogaine and 5-MeO-DMT experiences. In 2017, she was hired as the study coordinator for the Multidisciplinary Association of Psychedelic Studies (MAPS)-sponsored clinical trial of MDMA-assited psychotherapy for the treatment of PTSD during which time she returned back to school for her 2nd masters degree, this time in Social Work. By 2019, she had transitioned into the role of co-investigator as a psychotherapist on the MDMA trial. As an Associate Clinical Social Worker (ASW CA#90016), she is currently finishing up her final hours towards licensure.

Ashley's serendipitous path has propelled her just ahead of the curve as we enter into this new era of integrating psychedelics back into Western culture.
